Factsheet – Cross-border Healthcare in 2024
Every year the Commission collects data to monitor how the Directive 2011/24/EU on cross-border health is being implemented in the EU. EU citizens have the right to receive healthcare in other EU Member States, and to be reimbursed by their home countries provided certain conditions are met.
This factsheet, based on the Commission report for 2024, presents how EU Countries are set up to handle crossborder health requests and at how many requests are made.
